Healdsburg has many amazing restaurants,
impossible to list them all.
You really can't go wrong.
Here are some new options
we still need to try, and our favorites...

There is always something new in Healdsburg!

Sushi By Scratch

The new hot (and expensive) sushi place - at The Matheson. From the Michelin Guide: "This eatery from Chefs/owners Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee is no ordinary omakase spot. The nigiri are not just supremely finessed but also infused with original touches—like the dab of sweet corn “pudding” and sourdough breadcrumbs that coat slices of hamachi. Even traditional pairings become transcendent with his house-fermented soy sauce. The iconoclastic vibe extends to the beverages, including cocktails, sake, and beer. Despite such originality, this "bar" does indeed adhere strictly to one tradition: a mini counter with seating for just ten to ensure a deeply personalized experience. Your time here is bound to pass in a blissful haze of convivial chatter."

Tisza

Just opened and very popular.  Central European cuisine (think Schnitzel). From their website: Our culinary philosophy is firmly rooted in Central European sensibilities that embrace the integrity of the ingredients, with a dollop of creativity and Northern California wine country flair. We lead with the purity of freshest ingredients, carefully sourced by the chef utilizing local and international resources to bring you the most authentic, palate-pleasing and delicious dishes. Our European roots compel us to create dishes that pay homage to the historical context and vast legacy of our forefathers' cuisine. Our approach is simple — a deft hand, an inventive mind, and unwavering commitment to presenting the very best to our guests.

The Bubble Bar

An intimate (and small) beautiful room that serves all everything champagne. From their website: Lover of all things bubbly, local Healdsburg resident Sarah Quider brings her experience as a winemaker, passion for sparkling wine, and zest for travel together in a unique Wine Country wine bar with a global perspective. Located in the heart of Healdsburg, just steps off the Plaza, Healdsburg Bubble Bar is a Parisian-chic tasting room welcoming guests to explore sparkling wines from around the globe in the charming setting of a century-old, Queen Anne Victorian home.

Valette

Right in town and a lovely dining experience. Dustin Vallette is the local dining rockstar (but still incredibly down to earth). He has been working in various kitchens around Healdsburg his entire life so this restaurant is a dream come true for him (and his brother). You will usually see Dustin creating magic and bring his passion to life in the restaurant's open kitchen. If you go, don't miss the Day Boat Scallops en Croute.

Rustic

For more of a casual dining experience, definitely check out Francis Ford Coppola's restaurant Rustic, located at Coppola Winery. It is technically in Geyserville, but only a 5 minute drive from the house. This restaurant is very personal for him as it features many of the dishes his mother used to make. We particularly like their Chicken Mattone (chicken under a brick). They also have a large, beautiful outdoor dining area. The restaurant is also a lot of fun as it houses some of Francis's greatest treasures like his Oscars, the desk from the Godfather and the actual car from Tucker.

Catelli's

A great Italian in Geyserville (only a 5 minute drive from the house). Family-owned and locally very loved. Also has some celebrity cred as Gaga has dined here. Great bar and amazing, huge outdoor space. Don't miss their homemade, signature 10-layer lasagna - yum!

Cyrus

Healdsburg has many expensive, fancy restaurants. No shortage here. However, if you have to pick one, our current reco is for Cyrus. Located just 5 minutes from the house in Geyserville, this dinner is truly a journey, an experience. You do not sit at a table for 4 hours. Instead you travel through the dinner. First the Bubbles Lounge for cocktails and tastes. Then on to the kitchen for an intimate, very personal dining experience with Doug Keane, owner and chef. Then on to the main dining room with fantastic views of vineyards and your main courses. And then finally through the Chocolate Room for a last treat and parting gift. Very fun!

Sakeo

In addition to fancy restaurants, Healdsburg also has a bunch of sushi places (no idea why). We eat sushi about once a week (and have tried them all). We have settled on Sakeo as our sushi place of choice. The amount of fish on the sushi is very generous (and delicious). They are famous for their martini prawns and carburetor roll. The building and ambiance are fine, nothing special. And it is off the Plaza by a few blocks, right next to the Goodwill (don’t let this scare you). They are our little hidden secret in Healdsburg. We often take out from there, so real easy to pick up a big order and take it back to the house.

More Options

We wanted to keep our top recommendations to 5, which has been very difficult to do.  So we are also including more below, sorry.

GOODNIGHTS STEAKHOUSE

The new steakhouse in town.  Great filets, dry-aged cuts and A5 Wagyu.  Drinks are pretty fantastic too. Been a couple of times and it does not disappoint. Not cheap, but what is these days?

The Matheson Wine Wall & Rooftop

Over 50 wines you can self-serve from their wine dispensing machines. Get anything from a taste to a glass. Very fun. And if you get a little hungry, just order some food at the bar right there or head upstairs to their Rooftop restaurant (and try their fabulous salmon pizza with caviar!).

Lo and Behold

New restaurant/specialty cocktail place from the people who used to work at Dukes. The "Almost Famous Chicken Tenders" are great.

Troubadour

Troubadour is a great sandwich shop during the day but now they provide a world-class French pop-up dinner in the same space. Be forewarned, you are sitting in a sandwich shop on stools and will pay $125/pp before wine (so not cheap), but the food is outstanding and the dishes (oh the dishes).

Grata

Fantastic and affordable Italian. Located in Windsor, just one town below Healdsburg. Large portions, good food, a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and very affordable for restaurants around here. Not fancy but solid.

www.gratawindsor.com

Baci

Great, family-owned Itailan right in town.  A great vibe and really good food.  They also have a great wine room for groups.

Dry Creek Kitchen

The one restaurant that started it all in Healdsburg.  This famous Charlie Palmer classic is located right next to the Healdsburg Hotel (be sure to visit the Hotel's Spirit Bar before dinner). This restaurant has had its ups and downs.  However, we just tried it again, and it was excellent.  They are definitely back in form.  Service (and food) were impeccable.  While Healdsburg has a lot of shiny new toys in town, we really like this classic.

Willi's Seafood

Small plate classic right in Healdsburg.  Fantastic raw bar, great fish tacos and impressive lobster rolls.  Many other options (even non-fish) as well.  Great indoor and outdoor seating. A fun place.

Diavola

Best wood-fired pizza in the area.  Located just 5 minutes from the house in Geyserville.  Small place so definitely make reservations for dine-in and also does take-out.

www.diavolapizzeria.com

The Madrona

Used to be the Mardrona Manor. Located 5 minutes by car from the plaza. Absolutely beautiful inside and a cool bar (be sure to order the Estate Martini). Serving dinner and weekend brunch.

www.themadronahotel.com

Little Saint

Your vegan option in town. They feature a 100% plant-based restaurant, craft cocktails shop, coffee bar and more.

We also have some great markets if you are looking to cook at the house.

Big Johns Market

The closest market to the house.  Great meats, fish, cheeses and take-away.
1345 Healdsburg Ave, Healdsburg

Safeway

For the basics, but also really good produce (would go to Big Johns or Olivers for meat/fish).
1115 Vine Street, Healdsburg

Olivers

About 15 minutes away but great prepared food and produce.
9230 Old Redwood Hwy, Windsor

And if you want someone else to do the cooking at the house, we have some great personal chef recommendations:

And sometimes you just want to have something delivered.

THE BEST BET FOR DELIVERY TO THE PROPERTY IS ONE OF THE FOOD DELIVERY APPS. THE TWO MAIN ONES THAT DELIVER ARE GRUBHUB AND UBER EATS. WHILE THE OFFERINGS ARE NOT EXTENSIVE, THERE ARE SOME SOLID OPTIONS INCLUDING:
